Walter was born in 1102 in Canteleu, Seine Inferieure, Normandy, France.  Walter's father was Gilbert   Fitz Richard de Cantilupe and his mother is <Unknown>.  His paternal grandfather was William de Cantelou and his paternal grandmother is <Unknown>.  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 59 on April 18th, 1161 in Isles, Marne, Champagne-Ardenne, France.
