Joseph Bailey, son of Nathaniel Bailey
(3), was born at Rowley, Massachusetts, October
17, 1701. He settled at Rowley and like many others
of this family learned the trade of potter. He mar-
ried Sarah Jewett, June, 1725. Their children were :
Elizabeth, born December 27, 1725 ; Nathaniel, bom
March 17, 1727; David, born June 27, 1729; Amos,
born September 12, 1731 ; Joseph, born about 1733,
of whom later.
May have been in the Rev. War
