Randi was born in 1560 in Ollestad, Heskestad, Rogaland, Norway.1 Randi's father was Tarald Botulvsen Ollestad and her mother was Domilde Tørresdtr Eidland (Gjesdal). Her paternal grandfather was Botolv Vinningland and her paternal grandmother is <Unknown>; her maternal grandfather was Torres Sveinsen Eidland and her maternal grandmother is Karin Eidland.
