Kirsti was born in 1699 in Oilestad, Heskestad, Rogaland, Norway.1 Kirsti's father was Tore Jacobsen Ollestad and her mother was Botolvsdtr Førnes. Her paternal grandparents were Jakob Atlaksen Bjuland (Ualand) and Anna Larsdtr Ollestad. She had a sister named Anna. She was the younger of the two children.
