Tore was born in 1346 in Garå, Talje, Finnøy, Rogaland, Norway. Tore's father was Thorer Tordsen of Benkestok and his mother was Steinor Eriksdtr.  His paternal grandfather was Tord Benkestok and his paternal grandmother is Fru Tord Benkestok.  He died at the age of 54 in 1400 in Strand, Rogaland, Norway.
