General Notes
Agne was King from 220 to 260. Agne took an army to Finland where he defeated the chieftain Froste and took his daughter Skjalv and her brother Loge. He married Skjalv and prepared a great burial feast in honor of her father, Froste. Agne now was in possession of the gold ornament which Visbur had refused to return to his first wife. It was securely tied about Agne’s neck, when he fell in a drunken stupor after a great drinking bout at the burial feast. Skjalv, his wife, fastened a noose under the ornament while Agne slept, and with the help of her men threw the rope over a branch of the tree above and hanged Agne.
