John was born in 1688 in Machigonne (Parpoodock Pt.), Maine. John's father was John Lane and his mother was Dorcas Wallis. His paternal grandparents were James Lane and Sarah White; his maternal grandparents were John Wallis and Mary Shephard. He died at the age of 36 on June 24th, 1724 in Fox Island (Penobscot), Maine.
