Headstone reads: Erected by Alexander Hardie in memory of his father William Hardie who died 3 April 1898 aged 83 years. Also of his son Robert who died 1 July 1907 aged 19 1/2 Mary Hardie who died 8 Nov 1915 aged 42 years. Greatly loved and sadly missed.
At the bottom of the Headstone there is also a poem called 'The Sleep'
And friends dear friends, when it shall be
that this low breath is come from me,
and round my bier ye come to weep
Let one, most loving of you all,
Say not, a tear must o'er him fall,
He giveth his beloved sleep
