Jacob was born on October 15th, 1619 in Oberbaldingen, Schwarzwald-Baar-Kreis, Baden-Wuerttemberg, Germany.  Jacob's father was Sebastian Muller Jr. and his mother was Maria Kuenzlin.  His paternal grandparents were Sebastian Muller Sr. and Anna Sulzmann; his maternal grandparents were Hans Kuntzlin and Katherina Kuntalin. He had four brothers and four sisters, named Sebastian, Volpert, Barthlin, Gallus, Anna, Anna, Margartha and Christina. He had three half-brothers and a half-sister, named Barthlin, Johann George, Jacob and Anna.  He died at the age of 7 in 1612.
