Anderson was born on June 21st, 1845 in Isonville, Elliott, Kentucky, United States. Anderson's father was Doctor Ison Sr. and his mother was Elizabeth Fraley. His paternal grandparents were Archibald Ison and Mary Polly Gilliam. He had six brothers and four sisters, named Samuel B, Allen, Aaron, Richmond, Marion Francis, Albert, Phoebe, Hulda Jane, Josephine and Madison. He died at the age of 86 on February 10th, 1932 in Newcombe, Elliott, Kentucky, United States.-
