Eleanor was born in 1355 in Kilkenny, Kilkenny, , Ireland. Eleanor's father was James 2nd Earl Ormond Butler and her mother was LADY ELIZABETH Baroness of Hertforth Darcy. Her maternal grandparents were SIR JOHN LeNeveu of Knatyth DeDarcy and JOAN DeBurgh. She had three brothers and three sisters, named Ralph, Thomas, James 3rd Earl Ormond, Felice, Joan and Catherine. She had a half-brother and two half-sisters, named James 3rd Earl Ormond, JOHANNA and Eleanor. She died at the age of 37 in 1392 in , , , Ireland.-
