Roland was born in 1477. Roland's father was THOMAS Babington and his mother was EDITH FitzHerbert. His paternal grandparents were John Babington and Isabel Bradbourne; his maternal grandparents were Ralph Radus Fitzherbert and Elizabeth Marshall. He had five brothers and three sisters, named Anthony, Humphrey, Robert, John, Ralph, Catherine, ELIZABETH and Jane. He died at the age of 71 on June 20th, 1548 in Derby, Derbyshire, , England.-
