Immigrated to Jefferson Co, Illinois in 1828 after marriage, to join his father, Allen Bond.
He was killed (27 yrs old) June 25, 1832, during ambush
by Sauk Indians while serving in Black Hawk War.
He was a spy for U.S. Army. He was scalped.
He is buried at Kellogg's Grove in Kent, Stephenson Co, Illinois.
His grave is inside a gated area declared historical monument.
His widow, Mary with 2 children, married 2nd Willliam H. Boykin on Feb 4, 1836 Jefferson Co, Illinois.
