Mary Dixon:
Presbyterian
Sued the heirs of Thomas Dixon for a settlement of her father (John Dixon d. 1741) estate.
She had been collecting the rents on the land in Ireland and sending it toher father in care of her brother Thomas in Virginia.
The suit was ordered by Kking George III in 1762 in communication to Justice Alex Johnson of Bedford Co, Va. Nine years later in 1771 the trial began and it dragged on in the courts until 1839 . The courts are full of record of this trial.
Anne was described by one of her contemporaries as an old side strenuous woman,a woman of as very strong mind and very conversable and a great reader. She knew abundantly about the political and religious state of Great Britian and Ireland. She was for many years a member of the Presbyterian Church . She was not a warm person.
