Jesse Witt:
Baptist
Amer Rev War: Enlisted March 1, 1777-1779 (3 years service
14 th Regiment: Battle of Brandywine & Battle of Germantowne.
Troops wintered at Valley Forge, Pennsylvania
in the spring of 1778 he crossed the Delaware River.
Pursued the British Army through New Jersey
to Monmouth, New Jersey then marched
to White Plains, New York and afterwards
to West Point, NY where he was hospitalized.
Afflicted by sickness and loss use of left arm.
