Richard was born about 1042 in Aigle, Orne, Normandy, France.1   Richard's father was Engenulph de l' Aigle and his mother was Richeride.  His paternal grandparents were Fulbert de Deine and <Unknown>. He had a sister named Bertha.  He was the younger of the two children.  He died in 1085.1
