Richard, known as The Justiciar, was born in 0864 in France.1   The Justiciar's father was Count of Autun and Metz Budwin de Autun & Metz and his mother was Richilde Of Arles.  His paternal grandparents were Hardouin de Ponthieu and of Amiens; his maternal grandparents were Bonifacio Marchese of Tuscany III and Bertha. He had a brother and a sister, named Boso and Richaut.  He was the youngest of the three children.  He died at the age of 57 on September 1st, 0921 in Auxerre.2
