Thomas was born in September 1368 in Kettlethorpe Manor, Kettlethorpe, Lincolnshire, England.1   Thomas' father was Sir Hugh Swynford and his mother was Katherine De Roet.  His maternal grandparents were Sir Payne (Paon) De Roet (Of Guienne) and Bonneuil Chenerailles. He had a sister named Blanchette.  He was the younger of the two children. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Fairborn and Joan.  He died at the age of 63 on April 2nd, 1432.1
