William was born in 1698 in Lyons Creek 100, Calvert Co., Maryland.1   William's father was Thomas Marshall and his mother was Mary.  His paternal grandparents were William Marshall and Elizabeth Cox. He had a half-sister named Elizabeth.  He died at the age of 36 in 1734 in Calvert Co., Maryland.
