Michael was born in 1755 in Bucks Co., Pennsylvania.1   Michael's father was Johan Peter Houk and his mother was Anna Maria Schwedener.  His paternal grandparents were Hans Jacob Houk and Margaretha Barbara Loch; his maternal grandparents were Johan Martin Schwedener and <Unknown>. He had six brothers and a sister, named Nicholas, Barnet, George, Jacob, Felix, John and Anna. He had three half-brothers and a half-sister, named Jacob, David, Abraham and Elizabeth.
