Alexander was born about 1657 in Charles Co., Maryland.1   Alexander's father was Robert Hinson and his mother was <Unknown>.  His paternal grandparents were Maryland Hanson and <Unknown>. He had four brothers and two sisters, named George, Joseph, James, Robert, Anne and Mary.  He was the fifth oldest of the seven children.
