Lord of Bamburgh Aeldred

Aeldred was born in 1009 in Bernicia.¹ Aeldred's father was Earl of Northumbria Uchtred (The Bold) and his mother was Aelfgifu. His paternal grandparents were Earl of Northumbria Waltheof and Elfeda; his maternal grandparents were King Ethelred (The Unready) of England II and Eadgyth. He had a brother and a sister, named Ealdulf and Ealdgyth. He had three half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Aedwine, Morcar, Burgheard, Swan Neck and Lucy.
