Harold was born in 1022 in Wessex, England.1 Harold's father was Earl Godwin of Wessex & Kent and his mother was Gytha Sprakaleg. His paternal grandparents were Wulfnoth Cyld of Sussex and <Unknown>; his maternal grandparents were Thorkils (Sparkalägg) Styrbjornsson and Sigrid. He had six brothers and six sisters, named Sveyn, Tostig, Gyrth, Leofwine, Wulfnoth, Alfgar, Edith, Gunhilda, Elgiva, Edgiva, Driella and <Unknown>. He died at the age of 44 on October 14th, 1066 in Senlac, Sussex, England.2 -
