John de Mowbray 
John was born on November 29th, 1310 in Hovingham, Yorkshire, England.1 John's father was John de Mowbray and his mother was Aline de Braose. His paternal grandparents were 1st Baron de Mowbray of Axholme Roger de Mowbray and Roese de Clare; his maternal grandparents were William de Braose VII and Elizabeth of Sully. He had a sister named Christina. He was the younger of the two children. He died at the age of 50 on October 4th, 1361.1 General Notes
John de Mowbray, 3rd Baron Mowbray of Axlholme, married Joan Plantagenet, daughter of Henry Plantagenet and his wife Maud de Chaworth, son of Edmund, Earl of Lancaster and his wife Blanche (daughter of Robert of Artois, son of Louis VIII, King of France), son of Henry III, King of England. (Joan is also descended from Hugh and Roger Bigod, Sureties. for Magna Charta.)

John was heir to the baronies of Bramber and Gower as well as the extensive Mowbray lands of Axholme. In 1329 he was accused of having attacked the manors of Richard de Peshale, his mother's husband. He was in dispute with Thomas de Brewes in the 1340s over Washington, Findon and West Grinstead.
He was a constant companion in arms of Edward III on the French campaigns and married Joan, daughter of Henry, Duke of Lancaster. He died in 1361.
