Hugh was born in 1163 in Limoges, France.1 Hugh's father was Hugh de Lusignan and his mother was Orengarde. His paternal grandparents were Hugh (le Brun, le Vieux) de Lusignan VIII and Bourgogne de Rancon. He had a brother named Raoul. He was the older of the two children. He died at the age of 56 in 1219 in Damietta, Egypt.1 General Notes
