1st Earl of Cumberland Henry de Clifford

Henry was born in 1493.¹ Henry's father was 10th Lord Clifford Henry (The Shepherd) de Clifford and his mother was Anne St. John. His paternal grandparents were Baron Clifford John de Clifford and Baroness Clifford Margaret Bromflete; his maternal grandparents were Sir John St. John and Alice Bradshaw. He had two sisters named Margaret and Elizabeth. He was the oldest of the three children. He died at the age of 49 on April 22nd, 1542. He was buried in Skipton.²¹
