Richard "Strongbow" de Clare

Richard "Strongbow" was born in 1130 in Tonbridge, Kent, England.¹ Richard "Strongbow"'s father was Gilbert De Clare and his mother was Elizabeth (Isabel) de Beaumont. His maternal grandparents were Robert de Beaumont and Elizabeth Capet. He had a brother and two sisters, named Baldwin, Agnes and Basilie. He was the oldest of the four children.
