Munio's father was Count de Coimbra Hermengildo Guterres of Portugal and his mother was Ermezinda Gatones de Bierzo.  His paternal grandparents were Count Guterre Hermenegildes of Coimbra and Elvira Osorio; his maternal grandparents were Gaton Ramirez de Leon and Egilona. He had a brother and two sisters, named Guterre, Elvira and Ildonca. He had a half-brother named Rodrigo.  He died at the age of 50 in 0930.¹
