Robert was born in 1140.1   Robert's father was Manasser de Aguillon II and his mother was Isabell of Sussex.  His paternal grandparents were Manasser de Aguillon I and <Unknown>. He had two brothers named William and Richard.  He was the second oldest of the three children.
