John d'Eu 
John was born in 1113 in Leicestershire, England.1 John's father was Henry d'Eu and his mother was Margaret de Champagne. His paternal grandparents were William d'Eu and Baeatrice Busli; his maternal grandparents were William (Simple) de Champagne and Agnes de Sully. He had two sisters named Hildesende and Ida. He was the oldest of the three children. He died at the age of 57 on June 26th, 1170.2 General Notes

Carl Boyer writes: "King Stephen gave him custory of the castle of Tickhill. However, he was taken prisoner at the battle of Lincoln on 2 Feb. 1140/1, and the castle was not returned to him when his other lands were restored. He attended the Council of Claredon in Jan. 1163/4.
"He became a monk at Fourcarmont, where he was buried."
