Hermann Zur Lippe II

Hermann was born in 1172 in Lippe, Germany.¹   Hermann's father was Bernard Zur Lippe II and his mother was Countess Heilwig of Are and Hostaden.  His paternal grandparents were Hermann Zur Lippe I and <Unknown>; his maternal grandparents were Count Otto of Are and Countess Adelheid of Hostaden. He had four brothers and seven sisters, named Bernard, Dietrich, Otto, Gebhard, Heilwig, Kunigunde, Beatrix, Ethelind, Gertrud, Adelheid and Margarethe.  He was the second oldest of the twelve children.  He died at the age of 57 on December 25th, 1229.¹
