Matthew was born in 1390 in Wiston, Daugleddau, Pembrokeshire, Wales.1   Matthew's father was William Wogan and his mother was Katherine Wiriott.  His paternal grandparents were Matthew Wogan and <Unknown>. He had a brother named John.  He was the younger of the two children.
