Richard was born in 1499 in Screvton, England.1   Richard's father was Thomas Whalley and his mother was Elizabeth Strelly.  His paternal grandparents were Richard Whalley and Elizabeth Leake.  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 84 on November 23rd, 1583.1
