William J. was born on April 1st, 1851 in Taylor Co., KY.1 William J.'s father was William C. Underwood and his mother was Mariah J. Druin. His maternal grandparents were William Druin and Harriet Milby. He had four brothers and six sisters, named Hiram, Thomas, Jesse, George W., Sarah "Sally", Nancy J., Celia, Mariah J., Ursula and Martha F.. He was the second youngest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 86 on February 22nd, 1938.-
