Sanford Thomas Underwood 
Sanford Thomas was born on April 14th, 1897 in Illinois. Sanford Thomas' father was John Thornton Underwood and his mother was Mary Elizabeth Elliott. His paternal grandparents were William A. Underwood and Nancy Nelson. He had four brothers and a sister, named William Edgar, Malcolm Lee, Ivy Oriel, Archie Elliott and Eva Maye. He was the second youngest of the six children. He died at the age of 89 on April 6th, 1987 in Brownfield, Cameron County, Texas. He was buried in Highland Memorial Park Cemetery, Des Moines, Iowa.-
