Margaret was born in 1459.  Margaret's father was Lancelot Threlkeld [Sir Knight] and her mother was Baroness Clifford Margaret Bromflete.  Her paternal grandparents were Sir Henry Threlkeld and Alice; her maternal grandparents were Henry Bromflete and Eleanor Fitzhugh. She had four brothers and three sisters, named Lancelot (Esquire), Lancelot, James, Christopher, Ann, Jane and Elizabeth.  She was the second oldest of the eight children. She had a half-brother and a half-sister, named The Shepherd and Elizabeth.
