Saunders was born in 1602 in Stanway, Gloucestershire, England.1 Saunders' father was Paul Bart TRACY and his mother was Anne Sharkerley (Shakerly). His maternal grandparents were Ralph SHAKERLEY and Alice RADCLIFFE. He had nine brothers and nine sisters, named Richard, Paul, Alexander, Sharkerley, William, Nathaniel, Thomas, John, Vicessimus, Anne, Hester, Susanna, Barbara, Alice, Lucy, Margaret, Mary and Elizabeth. He was the eighth youngest of the nineteen children.-
