Henry was born in 1337 in Salford, Lancashire, England.1   Henry's father was Thomas Strangeways and his mother was Alice.  His paternal grandparents were Geoffrey Strangeways and Sibel. He had a brother named John.  He was the younger of the two children.  He died at the age of 48 in 1385.1
