William Stirling 
William was born about 1339 in Glenesk, Angusshire, Scotland.1 William's father was Sir John Stirling and his mother was Barbara de Swinburne. His paternal grandparents were Sheriff of Stirling John de Strivelyn and <Unknown>; his maternal grandparents were Adam de Swinburne and <Unknown>. He had three sisters named Marjory, Catherine and Jean. He was the youngest of the four children.-
