William Spencer 
William was born in 1592 in Althorp, Northamptonshire, England. William's father was Robert Spencer and his mother was Margaret Willoughby. His maternal grandparents were Francis Willoughby and Elizabeth Lyttleton. He had three brothers and three sisters, named John, Richard, Edward, Mary, Elizabeth and Margaret. He was the fourth oldest of the seven children. He died at the age of 44 on December 19th, 1636 in Brington, Northamptonshire, England.General Notes
William lived the life of a country gentleman and built a racecourse at
Althorp. His wife was the daughter of the Earl of Southampton,
Shakespeare's patron.
