Elizabeth was born about 1817 in , , Tennessee, USA.1 Elizabeth's father was Richard SHIPLEY and her mother was Henrietta HUGHES. Her maternal grandparents were Francis Hughes and Rebekah Allen. She had four brothers and a sister, named Benjamin Franklin, Nathan, Richard, William Park and [--?--]. She was the youngest of the six children.General Notes
I believe Elizabeth, the first wife of Gilbert W. Dearing, was a daughter of my ancestors, Richard Shipley, Sr. and Hanna Retta/Henrietta Hughes. It is not proved that Elizabeth Dearing's maiden name was Shipley but there is circumstantial evidence making this a possibility.
1. Elizabeth Dearing was born about 1817 in Tennessee. This would fit into the Richard Shipley family time line. Richard Shipley died abt 1819 in Rhea County, Tennessee. This was the area of Rhea County that became Hamilton County and where Nathan Shipley and Gilbert Dearing are found in later census records.
2. Elizabeth Dearing named her first known child Julinda b. abt. 1837. Richard Shipley, Jr. b. 1814 (the last known child of Richard and Hanna Retta) married Julinda Windham in 1834. This could be coincidence or Elizabeth named her daughter after her sister-in-law.
3. Gilbert W. Dearing's father Anselm Lynch Dearing lived near Nathan and Charlotte Shipley in the 1830 census.
4. Elizabeth's husband, Gilbert W. Dearing, was the administrator of Hannah Retta Hughes Shipley McAllister's estate.
5. Gilbert and Elizabeth lived next door to Nathan and Charlotte Shipley in 1850. Nathan is a son of Richard and Hannah Retta/Henrietta Hughes Shipley later McAllister.
I don't know if the daughter, Mary E. Dearing belongs to Elizabeth Shipley? or Gilbert's second wife, Elizabeth Wyatt.

This Elizabeth must be Gilbert's second wife. I don't know if the daughter, Mary E. Dearing belongs to the 1st or the 2nd Elizabeth.
