Marina's father was Theodosus Ii and her mother was Athenais Eudocia.  Her paternal grandparents were Archadius and Aelia Eudoxia; her maternal grandparents were Leontius and <Unknown>. She had three sisters named Licinia, Flaccilla and Arcadia.
