Sam Luther Roberts 
Sam Luther was born in August 1870 in Granville Co, NC and his baptism took place in Census 1910.1 Sam Luther's father was Elijah Adolphus Roberts and his mother was Elizabeth 'Bettie' Jane Jones. His paternal grandparents were McKinsey Patterson Roberts and Rebecca Jones. He had four brothers and six sisters, named Henry Lee, Joseph D., Frank, Lonnie, Luna B., Lola Loretta, Annie, Julia, Mamie and Edna. He was the oldest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 43 on January 16th, 1914 in Oxford, Granville Co, NC. He was buried on January 17th, 1914 in Maplewood Cemetery, Durham, Durham Co, NC.1 General Notes
