Charles was born in 1859 in Robertson Co, TN.1 Charles' father was John A. Roberts and his mother was Sarah. M. Unknown. His paternal grandparents were Willie Roberts and Elizabeth Unknown. He had three brothers and two sisters, named O. G., Andrew B., John J., Mary E. and Mattie V.. He was the third oldest of the six children.1 General Notes
