Edmund was born in 1310 in Pakenham Place, Kirby Mallory, Leicestershire, England. Edmund's father was Edmund De Pakenham and his mother was Rohesia De Valognes. His maternal grandparents were Robert de Valognes and Eve De Tregoz. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Thomas, William, Isolda, Simon and Joan. He was the oldest of the six children.-
