Sarah Jane PAYTON 
Sarah Jane was born on March 6th, 1851 in Parke Co., Indiana.1 Sarah Jane's father was James Franklin PAYTON and her mother was Elizabeth RUSH. Her paternal grandparents were Anthony PAYTON and Margaret WALLINGFORD. She had a brother and three sisters, named John A., Lucinda Francis, Matilda and Sybil. She was the second oldest of the five children. She died at the age of 57 on September 1st, 1908 in Hollandsburg, Parke Co., Indiana.2 General Notes
