Hugh A. was born in 1841 in Indiana. Hugh A.'s father was William H. NORMAN and his mother was Malinda HELTON. His paternal grandparents were William NORMAN and Mary Polly KEMP. He had four brothers and seven sisters, named James C., Martin V., Edward W., John, Margaret J., Eliza E., Martha E., Sarah C., Mary Ann, Clara A. and Susan H.. He was the second oldest of the twelve children.-
