Elizabeth's father was William Mobberley and her mother was Maud Downes.  Her paternal grandparents were William Mobberley and <Unknown>; her maternal grandparents were Robert Downes and Margery Fitton. She had a brother and six sisters, named Raufe, Mary, Margaret, Cicely, Emma, Joan and Agnes.1
