His paternal grandparents were William IV Mainwaring and Elizabeth Lycester; his maternal grandfather was Hugh III 9th Baron of Kinderton De Venables. He had two brothers and seven sisters, named John, Randle, Clemence, Elizabeth, Margery, Cecily, Joan, Ellen and Agnes. He was the fourth oldest of the ten children. He died in 1499 in Ighfiled, Shropshire, Eng. .-
