Perry Newton was born on May 23rd, 1861 in Parke Co., Indiana.1 Perry Newton's father was William A. LEWIS and his mother was Ethalie MITCHELL. His paternal grandparents were John C. LEWIS and Julina PAYTON. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Charles E., Frederick, Carl Henry, Sarah F. and Effie M.. He was the oldest of the six children. He died at the age of 84 on November 13th, 1945 in Los Angeles Co., California.1 General Notes
